Guidelines for Article Submission

Send us your personal story about Sisterhood Bookstore, whether It be a 1,000-word article, a pithy sentence, or a poignant paragraph.

Suggestions for what to include:

  • when and why you first went to Sisterhood Bookstore
  • what purpose Sisterhood Bookstore served in your life
  • what impact Sisterhood Bookstore had on you
  • positive or negative experiences you had at Sisterhood Bookstore
  • your reaction when Sisterhood Bookstore closed
Your submission should not exceed 1,000 words.; however, you may send more than one piece. Articles may be edited for content, and copy-edited for compliance with style guidelines. Therefore, some changes in the article may appear in the printed version. You will receive a copy of the final draft before publication for your approval.

Include a 50-75 word bio with submission.

Send your article via email as a MS Word document. The file should be attached to an email explaining that you wish the paper to be considered for publication.

Manuscripts submitted should be original work submitted exclusively to us, should not have been published before, and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

It is our policy to own the copyright to the contributions we use. To be in compliance with the U.S. Copyright Law, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer form prior to publication. This form returns to authors full rights to reuse their material for their own purposes.

We assume that material submitted to the Sisterhood Bookstore editors for consideration is properly available for general dissemination to our readership. It is the responsibility of the authors, not us, to determine whether disclosure of your material requires the prior consent of other parties and, if so, to obtain it.

There is no payment for selected submissions.
